If you havent read about it yet, Ive started what I am calling a 15 on 15 project! Basically what this is is that one day out of the month Im going to take one photo an hour. 🙂 Since the kids’ day usually starts by 7 and ends around 9ish, I figured doing 15 pictures a day would be plenty! Of course, I always end up taking a few more, but I have tried to narrow them down as much as I can! Then, on the 15th of every month I am going to post the photos! I am really excited about this project and giving everyone a glimpse in a “day in our lives” Anyone who would like to join me, PLEASE DO! I would love to see your images, so feel free to post links on the blog! 🙂 If we could get 15 people to join, how awesome would that be?!?! So, here is my very first 15 on 15! 7:15 am….
7:45 pm…
Is it really Monday already?!?! Weekends go by extremely fast lol! But what a FUN weekend it was! Even though the forecast called for sunny and warm, we embraced the cool, foggy weather. I was so exhausted from the week(first full week back after holiday breaks for the kids) and getting back into the routine of everything drained me. Friday we just relaxed and didnt do much of anything. Saturday we did some light cleaning and then headed out for a hike through the woods. It ended up being close to a 2 hour hike and we all had a great time getting outside and exploring. After, we lounged around the house and watched a movie and that was our Saturday. 🙂 Sunday, Kaleigh had her gymnastics meet and she did AMAZING! She got 1st on beam, a 4th, two 2nd places, and FIRST ALL-AROUND! That is a HUGE deal! I am so proud of her and the most important thing is that she had fun! I was glad to see all the family who came out to watch and support her, and to celebrate, we all went out to eat after! What a great way to end the weekend!
Last week’s goals and things Im looking forward to: Personal:
-maybe another project for the bedroom
Business:
-continue working on sample albums -send of equipment for cleaning
This week’s goals: Personal: -continue exercising…week 2! Yes! -continue with my personal projects(project 52, 15 on 15, etc) Im having a lot of fun with them and it is causing me to bring out my camera more…something I havent been doing nearly as often as I should -take a long weekend trip to Massanutten! We used to go for the entire week, but the last couple of years we have not been able to due to financial reasons…oh well, a couple of days is better than nothing! We just have A LOT to cram in haha! Lurray Caverns, Water Park, hiking trail, tubing, skiing, putt putt, go carts….you get the idea! -pack, clean, and decorate for Valentine’s Day -buy paint our bedroom! FINALLY picked out the color!
Business: -phone conference with Sara 🙂 -catch up on emails and keep my inbox organized! -wedding/session guides -make blog entries ahead of time so Im not up until all hours of the night! -thinking of putting together an intro photography class…a sort of “get to know your camera better” course…..not sure if this will happen or not, if I have enough interest, then definitely! If you are anyone you know may be interested, comment below! 🙂
“Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it.”-ConfuciusI pass by one of my favorite fields at least three times a week and the sight of it never gets old. It is a simple field…filled with tall grasses and bare trees, but it is that simplicity of the field that makes it so beautiful. The one word that comes to mind when I see it each time is stillness. It is untouched by machines and grows beautiful wild, yellow flowers in the summer. Beside it is a pretty dirt road and a wooden fence, making it the perfect little spot. I shot these photos on Thursday and the owner of the field stopped by as I was taking the pictures….He knows me, as I have stopped by there often to admire the land and have asked to use the property as a session location. He asked, “Whatcha takin’ pictures of now?” I replied with a smile, “Just the field today. Its so pretty!” He said, “If you can find beauty in that, then more power to ya!” It’s funny how our vision of beauty is so vastly different.
I had the pleasure of working with the McLaughlin family and their twin girls over this last year and as happy as I was to see them all again and take photos for the girls’ 1 year milestone, I also knew that it would be our last session of the year. It was bittersweet but we had a lot of fun and I just cant believe how much they have grown! Almost walking and talking and in just a few short months they will be close to running and talking words at a time! They are the sweetest little girls with such great, fun personalities!
Lisa always has them dressed in the CUTEST outfits!!!
