The Jefferson Memorial | Washington D.C. Wedding Photographer | Tim and Stephanie Engaged

I met with Tim and Stephanie at the Jefferson Memorial on a bright and early Monday morning, 5:45 to be exact!  As many of you know, DC is a pretty crazy city…BUT at that time of day it is so peaceful and quite.  We had the entire Memorial to ourselves and the sunrise was absolutely beautiful!  It is a very rare thing for me to wake up this early, but it is SO worth it!  The lighting is gorgeous at sunrise and I had such a fun time with Tim and Stephanie during their engagement session.  A little back story on this sweet couple….

Stephanie and Tim’s story started back at the ripe age of 6 years old. They met passing through the hallways trying to avoid “cooties” and on the playground in elementary school. They lost touch through middle school and high school and didn’t spend time together again until they were 18. They ended up catching up with each other during college through parties of mutual friends, and finally went on a first date. But as luck would have it, they continued down separate paths and didn’t meet up again for another date until several years later. It wasn’t until Stephanie was residing in Texas and home for a holiday visit that Stephanie and Tim would get that second date. Seven years later, Stephanie invited Tim to meet her and her friends out and they ended up spending the entire evening together and spent most of her visit home with him. At the end of that visit they decided to make it official and continued their relationship long distance with weekend trips and lots of phone conversations. Fast forward several months later, Stephanie moved back to Virginia, fast forward a bit more, Tim proposed and in a few short months they will be walking down the aisle. Although their story took a bit longer than most, they both know that love was well worth the wait.

I am thrilled to be a part of their wedding in August and am so happy for them!  Below are some favorites from our session!
