I couldn’t wait for this family session last weekend! I did Jon and Michele’s maternity session not too long ago and was excited to finally meet Melanie! She is the happiest baby! I think she smiled the entire session so that made my job a lot easier! 😉 And her cute peach fuzz hair–LOVE! This is such a fun age…sitting up, smiling, lots of personality…adorable! I can’t believe how big she is already and how fast the time has gone by! Before you know it, they will be celebrating her one year birthday! Manic Monday{Personal} | Richmond, VA Photographer

So, Im going to admit that I totally forgot about writing this Manic Monday post! With it being Mother’s Day yesterday, we were out the entire day and when we finally got home, I threw myself on the couch and watched tv until I fell asleep! But we had such a fun weekend! I normally don’t “take days” off of work….even when I don’t work a full day, I make sure to take some time to at least reply to emails, edit, etc. Friday was one of those days….I spent nearly the entire day birthday shopping for Kaleigh and Carter and then we met up with some friends and went to the Squirrels game that evening. It was a perfect night for it, minus the enormous traffic from VCU’s graduation. Oh, and then when Carter was holding a $20 bill and it flew out of his hand and over the edge of the stadium! Thankfully, Jay went to look for it and he actually FOUND it hahaha! Poor Carter….he has the worst luck….but he never looses that positive, sweet, happy attitude! Aside from that they had a blast…mostly not watching the game haha. I think the most exciting thing for them was getting to run around the bases after the game.
Saturday, I traveled to McClean for a session and that evening Jay and I went out with my cousin and her fiancé to celebrate his birthday! Its always a good time hanging out with them, especially when hanging out involves Rock Bottom and trying out new drinks. 😉 We had a pretty late night, but I was able to sleep in on Sunday which was great and I woke up to breakfast in bed and handmade cards from Kaleigh and Carter. They worked so hard to make me feel special and sweet Carter was hugging and kissing on me the entire day! We celebrated Mother’s Day with Jay’s grandparents and family…we went out to lunch and then back to Nana and Papa’s for a bit. Then we hit up COTU with our friends and played corn hole before going out for dinner with Jay’s parents. And Mother’s Day couldn’t be complete without a trip to Target haha! I got a cute new pair of shoes so I’d say it was a perfect Mother’s Day!

I was so happy to work with this awesome family again! I did a session for them over the winter and it was COLD! We got some great shots, but I am thrilled with our most recent session because the weather was beautiful and I am loving all the bright spring colors! And Aubrey could not be any cuter! She was really loving sticks on this day and I had a great time watching her discover things around the park, smell flowers and then pick them for her parents. I cannot get over her curls–they are SO cute and it reminds me of my sweet Kaleigh when she was that age! Aubrey melted my heart at the end of the session when she said, “Thank you Miss Ashley” is the sweetest little voice! Oh how I miss those days! Below are some favorites from our session! R Family {Maymont Park} | Richmond, VA Family Photographer

This was my first time working with the “R” family and they. are. adorable! I couldn’t have asked for a better family to photograph on this gorgeous day–and they even made the trek down to Maymont Park during the Arts in the Park Festival going on! Despite the crowds, we managed to get some amazing shots, and its all thanks to this sweet family! Below are some favorites from our session! BTW, the flowers are in FULL bloom at Maymont right, but it wont last for long, so if you are interested in having some family portraits taken during this time, contact me ASAP! Manic Monday {Personal} | Richmond, VA Photographer

Good Morning! I cant believe Monday is here again…what a whirlwind it was last week, but oh so much fun! We kicked off the week with Kaleigh’s last ORF performance at school(the kids did great!) along with the Book Fair. It was a gorgeous evening and the kids had a blast running around their school playground freely with their friends. 🙂 I cant believe that the school year is coming to an end and my little Kaleigh is going to middle school next year! That is SCARY!! I had a family session on Wednesday(photos coming soon!), wiffleball game Thursday and we ended the week with tennis lessons, a sleepover and I attended my friend’s jewelry party on Friday. Saturday, Jay and I did something we have never done before…the RUGGED MANIAC!! It was such an amazing experience! We had a group of five and we all had such a great time. LOTS of mud, running, and teamwork made for a fantastic day! And to top it off, we had dinner at En Su Boca downtown…I had never been before and I think I just found my new favorite Mexican restaurant! SO good! Im pretty sure I ate back all of the calories I burned(and then some!) but it was totally worth it!…I think I could eat Mexican just about every single day haha! When we got home I pretty much crashed and yesterday I spent the day doing some light cleaning, shooting three sessions, and preparing for the week ahead! Below are a few photos from this week’s events! 🙂
