Lee and Ellen met in college in the fall of 2013. They had a few mutual friends on Facebook so they decided to “friend” each other. At school they would pass each other to and from class, but never spoke. On evening, Lee decided to message Ellen and from then, they began walking to classes together. Eventually, Lee asked Ellen out to dinner, and that is where their story began! A year and a half went by and during this time they both finished school, started their careers and were ready for the next chapter in their lives.
Their engagement story is so cute! Ellen thought they were just going to dinner at one of their favorites restaurants. During the ride, she noticed that Lee was not going to the restaurant so she asked where they were going…Lee said, “You’ll see.” When they arrived at the park, they began to walk towards the dock and Lee pointed out towards the water to ask, “What is that out there?” After Ellen turned to the water and didn’t see anything, she turned back around and Lee was on one knee holding out an engagement ring asking Ellen to marry him.
Lee and Ellen were married on a very windy Saturday, but you would never know it! Well…aside from Ellen’s veil flying off as she met Lee at the alter! But nothing could have ruined their magical day, not wind or less than warm temperatures! They were surrounded by family and friends who were so happy to witness their marriage and excited to celebrate with them. They laughed, cried and danced the night away, all in the honor of these two! I am so excited to share some of my favorites from Lee and Ellen’s wedding day! Congrats again you two!

They met in high school in 2009 and have been together for 7 years. Together they enjoy going to the movies, going out to dinner, and playing with their fur babies. They were engaged this past Christmas Eve after Ted gave Brooke several little notes within gift boxes that led her to the Christmas tree. She then had to find a little note attached to the Christmas tree and then he popped the question! I am so excited to be a part of this special time in their lives and cannot wait for their wedding! Below are some favorites from our session!
Colin and Martiza met in 2013 while living overseas in England. Colin was stationed at RAF Molesworth with the United States Air Force and Martiza moved to England to work as a Systems Administrator. They initially met at work but didn’t really get to know each other until a couple months later while attending a going away party for a mutual friend. They spent the entire evening talking and learning that they had similar interests and the same views on life. The very next day, Colin and Martiza went on their first date for pizza and indoor snowboarding. On their next date, Colin invited Martiza over to his house for dinner. Martiza was won over when she walked in and found Colin preparing ingredients to make sushi! One year (and many happy dates) later, on August 4, 2014, Colin proposed to Martiza while cruising the Caribbean on the Allure of the Seas. On October 14, 2014, they were legally married at the local town hall in Oundle, United Kingdom. Two years later, on the same exact date, they gave their vows overlooking the beautiful mountains at Moss Vineyards in Charlottesville and celebrated their marriage with family and friends. Colin and Martiza love to be outdoors! Whether it is snowboarding and playing tennis to cycling and hiking….they do it all! They love to travel and have already visited the Caribbean, Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Wales, Scotland, and Italy. They also enjoy staying home and playing video and board games and like to experiment with cooking new recipes. Their wedding day could not have been more perfect. They were surrounded by the beautiful mountains and their closest family and friends gathered to witness their marriage. It was a gorgeous sunny day and filled with so much joy! As a senior in high school, Aaron was getting excited to follow his dream of attending the University of Alabama like his grandfather. Once he found out how much the out-of-state tuition rates were, plans quickly changed and he began to look at in-state options. Unsure of where to turn, Aaron asked his longtime friend, Barry, where he was choosing to go to school. Barry suggested applying to Longwood University, a small school in Farmville, VA. The deadline had past to apply, however a terrible storm that came through the area had led to a one week extension for applications! Thankfully, Aaron was accepted and began studying at Longwood in the fall of 2007. Jennifer, being as organized as she is, had already known she would attend Longwood University and was excited about studying Psychology. Aaron and Jennifer would eventually cross paths on campus and become friends. Aaron transferred to Virginia Tech the following year, but thanks to social media, Jennifer and Aaron were able to keep in touch. After six years since they first met, Jennifer reached out to Aaron to see how he had been. Several days of catching up ensued and Jennifer informed Aaron that she had an Aunt and Uncle conveniently living near Aaron! A week later they went out on a date in Arlington and the rest is history. After two years of pushing through a long distance relationship, Aaron finally got a job in Richmond so that they could continue to grow closer and experience a relationship in the same city. Less than a year into being together in Richmond, Aaron suggested that they go back to where they first met and visit Longwood University together. Little did Jennifer know, this would be the day that would change their lives. Aaron had planned on exploring the campus and then ending the afternoon down on one knee. As they arrived to the campus, nerves kicked in so Aaron cut out the “exploring” part and went straight to the planned location. On November 28th, Aaron asked Jennifer to marry him back where they first met. After Jennifer said yes, Aaron informed her that they had a “reservation for two” at a local restaurant. Aaron and Jennifer e love traveling, visiting local wineries and breweries, spending time with family, completing home projects, and Aaron is a photographer himself! They love saying the words “Husband” and “Wife” and are grateful how naturally everything has fallen into place within the first week of marriage. They are excited to settle into their new home and making memories as Mr. and Mrs. Dishner! Below are some favorites from their wedding day, congrats again you two!!

A. Banks Invitations | By Invitation Only Transportation | Richmond Trolley I met with Tripp and Megan for their engagement session and we had SUCH a fun time! I enjoyed getting to know them better and I cannot wait for their wedding in September! The story on how they met and Tripp’s proposal is so cute and I would love to share it in Megan’s words.
Tripp and I have been together for three years. Neither of us likes to use the word fate, but it seems that’s what brought us together. We met on a random Saturday afternoon after I had lunch with my aunt, whom I hadn’t seen in a while. She suggested that we go down to the “dog lots” [where they kept their hunting dogs] to see if my cousin was there. Well, sure enough he was, along with a handsome young man, whom I had never seen, and puppies!! I mean, come on… what more could a girl ask for?! We talked for a few minutes while playing with the puppies and when I left I thought I’d never see or hear from him again. But not even three minutes later, my aunt got a phone call asking if Tripp could have my phone number.
The road to our engagement was full of ups and downs, but that night was perfect. We went to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, just as we do every year to look at Christmas lights. As we were walking out, we came up on a group of people standing around. It took me a minute to notice who they were (I wasn’t wearing my glasses), but eventually I realized both of our families were standing there. Tripp walked over to my dad, who pulled out a small white box from his jacket. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said YES!!! My dad has since passed away after being sick for a very long time, so it really meant a lot to me, and to Tripp, that he was there to “give me away” since he won’t be there for our big day. We are so very excited for our upcoming wedding on September 16, 2017!!
I love that Megan’s dad was able to share such a special moment with her and Tripp, I know how much that means to their families. Below are some favorites from their engagement session!
