Whew!!!!  What a crazy week it has been!  With all the storms(and tornadoes!!) coming and going and the HOT, HOT weather its amazing I made it through the week lol!  To everyone who had to work outside this weekend, you are amazing!!  I dont know if I could have survived!  And I will say, I am not a fan of the no power, water, AC, internet, etc…but Im dealing with it as best as I can!  The main issue is finding things for Kaleigh and Carter to do so they wont fight all day haha!  I think the worst part is knowing that we have a generator….its just not working properly!  I had planned on getting so much done this weekend 🙁  Friday was great…the kids played really well together and I got A LOT done!  I took them to Barnes and Noble and Stevie B’s as a treat and then we went to our neighbor’s house to swim with their kiddos and watch the women’s gymnastics Olympic trials.  The day was great, but ended badly with a bad storm and power outage :/  Saturday was spent getting a lot of things done around the house that I normally don’t have time for(dusting, putting up our frame collage on the steps, etc).  I had planned to continue editing throughout the weekend, but the weather changed that!  We did get our power back for about an hour(what a tease!)  and then the BIG storm, or rather tornado hit!  It was INSANE!  Jay was actually out in it when it came through so he spent an hour(of what should have been a 15 minute drive) trying to get back to our house.  EVERY road was blocked with trees and power lines and we didnt know if he would even be able to get back that night or not.  Thankfully, someone came with a chainsaw and cut a path in the road and he made it!  And while this was happening, I was at home with the kids getting ready to go to my parents(our neighbors too!) house for dinner.  If you dont know about our driveway…it is STEEP and nearly a 1/2 mile long!  Like…if it snows in the winter, we are stuck.  No joke!  So anyway, I was driving down trying to get to my parents and at the bottom, straight across the entire driveway was a tree….making it impassable!  Luckily for us, my dad owns a construction business and had at home backhoe to rescue us!  Sunday was miserable!!!  It was really hard to do much of anything yesterday at the house so we decided to head out for lunch, Sweet Frog, and bowling!  The rest of the afternoon was spent just trying to cope lol!  I am just thankful my dad has a generator so we could watch the finals for the women’s gymnastics.  I am SO excited for the Olympics!

Anyway, Im currently at the library now as I am writing this and Kaleigh and Carter are reading and doing puzzles so I can try to get just a little bit of work done!  Im running on almost no sleep today…I think I was up every 5 minutes dripping sweat….ugh!  There wont be any photos accompanied with Manic Monday today and before I get to the goal list…I will warn you…its not pretty!  I managed to get a little bit done, but not nearly as much as I would have liked!  So here it is….

I took the kids strawberry picking a few weeks ago when the strawberries were at their peak.  They were SOO good!  There is nothing better than picking strawberries straight from their roots and eating them.  They are so sweet, juicy, and absolutely delicious!  My only regret is that we only went once this season. 🙁  I would have loved to go two or three times…they were THAT good!  Of course while we were there we did a mini photo shoot…how could I resist?? 😉  Kaleigh and Carter had a great time finding the biggest, brightest strawberries and eating them too! It had just showered that morning so the ground was a bit slippery, but that didnt stop us from hopping over the rows to collect the fruit.  I hope that we are able to get out to the field to pick the blueberries that are in season now!  Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all have a great weekend!  Enjoy the photos from our strawberry picking adventure!   PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGEVendors:

Overlooking the city in Church Hill on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, Tony and Gabrielle were married.  With the sun shining, the cool breeze, and the intimate wedding, the day could not have been more perfect.  I loved working with this couple….not only does their love for one another shine through each of them, but they are also so natural in front of the camera and the images from this day were beautiful!  I loved the peacock wedding theme….everything from the colors and cake, right down to the jewelry and hair pieces..it all coordinated so well together!  Tony and Gabrielle could not have been more elated on this day and I love that they chose to have such a close, intimate wedding to witness such a joyous occasion.  Tony and Gabrielle, I want to thank you all for allowing me to be part of such a special day for you!  It was truly an honor and I am thrilled to show you my favorites from your wedding day!  I wish you all the best and the most love that life offers.  I hope you enjoy the photos!  PIN IMAGELOVE this dress! So….another late post!  Oh well, its better than not doing one at all right??  This past weekend was pretty fun…I got to photograph a wedding for a friend of Jay’s so all the  Glasco boys and their girls were there, along with some other friends we hang out with!  It is hard sometimes balance work and fun, but I think I did a pretty good job of it! 🙂  It was a beautiful wedding to say the least….the University of Virginia is such a pretty campus and I was honored to be a part of Josh and Erin’s special day!  I can’t wait to show you the photos!  We didn’t do much of anything on Sunday…it was one of our rare, lazy, do nothing but watch tv kind of days.  Ha!  I did order a pepperoni, mushroom, and feta pizza from the Mellow Mushroom in Charlottesville before we left and it was AMAZING!!  I seriously could have eaten the entire pizza yesterday, but I managed to save two pieces for today lol!  Me + Pizza = no self control!  Ok, I know this is a short one, but it looks like a hurricane out there so Im going to wrap it up in case I loose power!  Hope everyone has a great week!  Below are the goals…sorry for no photos 🙁

When I spoke with Virginia about session locations, I was thrilled when she requested to shoot in Goochland.  As you know, this is one of my favorite places to go…and really it is my number one place for shoots.  Everything from the scenery to the light is just gorgeous there and it is so peaceful!  I always look forward to the sessions I have there because I know they will be awesome!  I LOVED photographing this sweet family, they were all so natural in front of the camera and so comfortable to be around!  Thank you “G” family for allowing me to document sweet Amelia’s first year milestone and your family portraits!   PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGEIsn’t she  a cutie?!
