I was so happy to have finally met Chris and Becky for their engagement session in Richmond!  We have been chatting back and forth for a while and I couldn’t wait to meet them in person!  I loved that they chose to have their engagement session downtown!  It has been quite a while since I’ve done a session in the city and I always LOVE when I do! 🙂  We started out at the train station, walked around a bit, and ended the day with a beautiful sunset overlooking the city.  It could not have been more perfect and I loved capturing Chris and Becky’s love for each other and all the sweet moments they shared together that day.

Chris and Becky, I had SUCH a fun time with you all and I cannot wait to see you again on your wedding day!  🙂   PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGEThese two are so natural in front of the camera! Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend!  This weekend was a bit different for me, as I had a Friday wedding in Maryland.  I actually really liked having a Friday wedding because I felt like I had a weekend.  And I must say, I had a great time at Brittany and Jay’s wedding…they were such a sweet couple and their family and friends were so much fun to hang out with!  And even though the drive home took nearly 4 HOURS(due to an accident), it was totally worth it!  When I got back home Saturday afternoon, I was tired to say the least so we just hung out around the house.  I reluctantly got in the car again that evening lol so that we could go to Mexico for dinner(one of my favorite restaurants!)  After, we went to Best Buy to purchase  a couple of new external hard drives to back up my files.  I have since then learned that it is my actual computer(Time Machine to be exact) that is not cooperating with the hard drives.  This gives me a lot of hope that the first external hard drive that I am having issues with is ok and has not failed.  I plan to take a trip to the Apple store today to do a diagnostics.  🙂

Then we went to Petsmart to look at the hamsters…both Kaleigh and Carter have expressed that they would like hamsters….its been about a year since Kaleighs two hamsters(Carl and Jake) passed away and I think its safe to say that Kaleigh has mourned and moved on.  At the time it was devastating.  I hated to see her hurt like that and I so wish there was something I could have done to help take that pain away…BUT, that is part of growing up.  We had a special burial ceremony for Carl and Jake and she hand wrote letters to each of them.  It was very sweet(and sad!)  From that experience, Kaleigh knows now what will eventually happen with other animals as well as people….she knows that empty feeling inside when something like that happens and when something/someone important passes away…..and she is willing to deal with it!  I think that says a lot about her.  And it reminds me of the quote, “It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at at all.”  And, Carter is now around the same age Kaleigh was when she first got her hamsters, so the timing I think is perfect. 🙂

Ok, I wrote a lot more than I intended!  So yesterday, we went over to my parents house for an awesome breakfast complete with fried eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, cinnamon rolls, and coffee….it….was…delicious!  Thinking about it now makes me want it all over again!  After, we went swimming!  My dad got the kids snorkeling gear(in preparation for the CRUISE we are going on in three months…thats another story!)  and Carter had a BLAST!  He finally started going under the water again and couldnt get enough!  We had to physically take him out of the pool and make him take breaks because he was going under the water more than he was actually breathing lol!  I was amazed at how well he is able to swim!  I know I am totally biased, but my kids constantly amaze me!  🙂

We went out to eat later that evening with Gigi and Rick(Jay’s parents), followed by a great game of putt putt.  Kaleigh is really getting good…she has the hand-eye coordination down!  Carter is still easily distracted and cant seem to stay in one place for more than 30 seconds lol so he did his own game of putt putt.  I’d say this weekend was pretty relaxing and fun…even if I didnt get to edit or get a single thing done around the house.  At times I feel completely hopeless and overwhelmed by the never ending amount of work that I have…but lately I have been hanging on to something I read….I cant remember the exact quote but it goes something like this….if you have to choose between work and the kids….choose the kids…the work will always be there tomorrow.

I apologize for the super long post…I guess I am in need of some relief. 🙂  OK, lets take a look at last week’s goals….

I am thrilled to show you part II of David and Sara’s wedding!  If you missed part I, you can view it here.  When I learned that we had 45 minutes for their couple’s portraits, I was beyond excited!  Having that much time with the bride and groom alone is always a big plus!  Not only do I much more relaxed, but I also feel that I have the freedom to get creative and really take my time perfecting the portraits.  I am in love with the images from their wedding day and I hope you enjoy some of my favorites! 🙂 PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE

The light was amazing, the couple is gorgeous….ahhh!!  LOVE it!
