Good afternoon everyone!  This post is a little late getting out….I fell asleep last night at like 8:30!  I was exhausted from the weekend!  Friday, I shot a wedding with my friend Beth in Waynesboro and didn’t get home until after one in the morning(totally worth it though….the venue was beautiful and I had such a fun time with my friend!)  I got a couple of bottles of red wine while I was there….delicious!  Saturday, we took the kids to the Science Museum and then we headed over to our friends Carri and Eric’s house to swim with their kiddos.  We always have a great time with them and I love that even though we are way out in the woods, we still have some great neighbors. 🙂  It is so funny to watch Carter swim now….he hasnt really been going under the water this whole summer, but my dad bought him a pair of googles so we finally convinced Carter that he could go under and SEE under the water.  It only took him ONE time to do that and he has been a little fish ever since.  I was so afraid that first day because he was going under the water more than he was breathing lol…I thought he was going to pass out from lack of oxygen! He has been having a blast and is a really great swimmer!  Anyway, after swimming with our friends, Kaleigh and Carter went to Gigi and Rick’s house for a sleepover and Jay and I went bowling with a couple of our friends.  I love to bowl…Im not the greatest, but its always fun.  One of the best parts is making up names for ourselves haha….I was Lady Gaga on Saturday.  Saturday was such an eventful day so yesterday we just lounged around the house and watched tv.  Overall, it was a pretty fun weekend.  The next three weekends in August are already filled with trips to Kentucky, Virginia Beach, and a wedding.  It is so close to the end of summer so we are trying to squeeze in as much fun activities as we can!  This week will be filled with frantic cleaning, packing, and editing to get ready for our long weekend trip to Kentucky to visit our friends(Beth, Sean, and Dylan!)  We are so excited and have never been to Kentucky…it is going to be a blast!  AND, we are doing each others family photos so Im really excited about that!  OK, onto the goals…

Hollie - Awww! I can’t wait to see the family photos you guys take! I know they’ll be beautiful! 🙂ReplyCancel

I had been looking forward to this family’s session for so long!  Devon contacted me a few months back about a family session and I was thrilled!  I did their newborn session in the hospital and it had been quite a while since I had last seen the family.  We decided to meet at Crump Park for the shoot and watching that sweet baby girl’s first reaction at seeing live animals was one of the cutest and funniest thing ever!  She was so amazed at the horses, sheep, and chickens and just could not get enough of them!  She was so enthusiastic with her expressions, pointing at all the animals….so cute!  Below are some favorites from our session.  Thank you “A” family for allowing me to document your family photos, I had a great time! 🙂 PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGELook at those big blue eyes! Wow!  I cant believe I am finally getting around to posting the kid’s birthday parties!  I know I have been buys, but geez!!  I have been wanting to share these images for so long now, but just have not had the time to get around to writing the post!  I did the hard part…editing, watermarking, uploading…the only thing I had to do was write!  I feel awful that it has taken two months, but its finally here!

Kaleigh started gymnastics a few months ago and has come to truly love it!  Not only does she have a great time and has made a lot of friends, but she is also good…I mean REALLY good!  She catches on SO quickly, is eager to learn, and works HARD.  Those things will take her far in this sport.  I did gymnastics for 8 years and loves every minute of it so it makes me happy that she has the same passion for it!  I am making it a point to take some photos this week of Kaleigh doing gymnastics, so hopefully I will have a blog post on that soon. 🙂  Naturally, she wanted to have a gymnastics themed birthday and so we did!  Below are the details from her birthday!  Carter’s are on the blog as well…you can check his birthday party out here.    PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE

Well, I am finally getting around to posting some images from Carter’s birthday party!…it only took me TWO months!  Geez!  As crazy as it sounds….I really dont get time to take photos of my own kids and document the everyday things.  This is something I really would like to work on.  I would love it if I am able to bring out my camera once a week to snap just a few photos of them in their element.  Nothing planned…nothing special…just them growing up and doing what they love.  But, thats another story!

So, Carter has been obsessed with super heros for over a year now and what better way to celebrate his birthday than with a super hero themed birthday?!?!  The kids had such a great time…we combined their birthdays again this year(much easier on me haha) You can view Kaleigh’s gymnastics themed birthday here.  Below are the fun details from Carter’s 4th birthday!

Good morning everyone!  To say this past week was busy may be an understatement!  Aside from doing the normal everyday tasks, I did a lot of running around!  To be honest, I felt like I was in the car more than anything!  Trips to gymnastics, piano, family visits, doctor visits, a girls night out, play dates, a trip to the apple store, and taking my car to the shop!  Phew!  From the looks of it, it may seem like I got a lot accomplished, and maybe I did…but I feel like BECAUSE I was doing all that running around that I didnt get more important things done(spending quality time with the kids, cleaning, editng..) Ahhhh, the list goes on and on!  This weekend was spent watching a lot of the Olympics and cleaning…not that exciting, but a lot of fun! 🙂

Here are some photos from our most recent piano lesson.  You may remember Rachel, Kaleigh’s teacher…I did her, Scott, and Diego’s session this past fall!

This is going to be a short post today, but I did want to write the kid’s stats from the doctor….And I will quote my facebook status “Kaleigh: 50 lbs(12th percentile) 48 inches(10th percentile) Carter:44 lbs(95th percentile) 42 inches (75th percentile) they are FOUR years apart! Talk about total opposites lol!”

Ok, onto the goals from last week!

Personal:

-plan a play date or two with the kids and their friends

-work on the birthday albums…

-watch as much of the Olympics as I possibly can!

-girls night out

-take my car to the shop…it hasnt been starting recently.

-relax this weekend that I have off and try to get some cleaning done

Business:

-edit photos!

-blog Becky and Chris’ engagement photos!

-send out client packages

-catch up on emails

-take my computer to the apple store

-back up my files(twice!)

I’d say that was a pretty successful week!  And here are this week’s goals:

Personal:

-document Kaleigh doing gymnastics!

-blog birthdays

-continue working on birthday albums

-work on cleaning the upstairs

-workout!

Business:

-catch up on emails

-get excited to second shoot with Beth on Friday!  It has been SOOO long and I can’t wait to shoot with her again! 🙂
