I met Peter and Tori a few months back and they were just the sweetest couple!  They both seemed so laid back and happy to be starting their journey in life together.  When I arrived at the Jasmine Plantation I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was!  Though it was raining, it could not take away the excitement of the day.  I loved Tori’s choice of colors and she did such a great job with all of the details and decor.  Thankfully, the rain passed quickly and family and friends were able to enjoy the intimate ceremony.  Thank you Peter and Tori for choosing me as your photographer on your wedding day!  I wish you all the love and happiness in the world!  I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from the day!   PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGETori, you look BEAUTIFUL! What a fun weekend we had!  Friday we celebrated a friend’s birthday at our house complete with silly string haha!  The kids had a blast squirting everyone….but my floors the next day were terrible haha!  Saturday we went to Carter’s soccer game where he scored three or four goals!  It was a great game to watch, both teams were really going for the ball so it was intense. 🙂  After, we went out to brunch at Cracker Barrel.  We havent been out to eat breakfast in SO long and it was delicious!  But I have to remember to stay away from that place around this time of year!  They already have their Halloween AND Christmas(my two favorite holidays!) so it was tough having self control!  Later that day, I took the kids to do their Halloween shoot(cant wait to show the pictures!)  I am so excited about their costume choices this year…they always seem to pick out costumes that match their personalities.  THEN, Rick took the kids and Jay and I went to James River Winery where we experienced our FIRST wine tasting!  It was so much fun and I cant wait to do it again. 🙂  We ended up buying four bottles….probably not the best thing for our  budget, but we let ourselves splurge. 🙂  It was still really early by the time we finished so we decided to meet some friends downtown for dinner.  It was such a fun, busy day for everyone.  I still can’t believe that fall is here and I am loving every minute of it!  Sunday we did a lot of cleaning up around the house before heading to the pumpkin patch.  We got some really great pumpkins this year so if anyone is looking to go, NOW is the time!  Last year, we had slim pickings and it wasnt as enjoyable for the kids.  This year though there were SO many to choose from and the kids has a blast!  We got a good variety too….green, orange, and one of my absolute favorites…speckled orange and green!! Yay! 🙂  That was about it for our weekend, I think everyone was exhausted by the end of the day.

As if the weekend wasnt busy enough, today we are going to the fair!  I have been out of the house all day and am just now sitting to write this post and then off again to get everything together for the busyness of this afternoon!  We love going each year and was thrilled to hear that they were having it this year(not sure if everyone knows about the bankruptcy) but only up until a couple of months ago did they know we would have a state fair.  Ive heard they dont have as much as the normally do, but hopefully next year will be like the others.

Well, I am finally getting around to posting some photos from our trip to Sandbridge last month!  It was a sort of mini vacation for us…our full vacation will be at the end of October and I cannot WAIT!  We are going on a cruise with my Dad and my three sisters!  It will be our first vacation together in like seven years!

And while these arent all the photos from our trip….I did manage to get the kids out on the beach for a little shoot on our last night.  Its sort of a tradition of ours although last year we didnt get the chance to.  🙁

I hope you enjoy these photos and I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and great weekend!
PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGEOk so I normally dont post “outtakes” but for those of you who think my kids always do great for photos….haha!!!  That is NOT the case 90% of the time!  I usually have to do a lot of bribing and “counting to three” before they will cooperate and even then…..this is what I get lol! PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGEHa!  I still laugh when I look at those….maybe I should post this stuff more often! 🙂 PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGEThey loved this!

Jay and Brittany are such a sweet, down to earth couple and I was honored to be a part of such a special day for them.  Their wedding day could not have been any more beautiful.  The day started off a little rainy, but by the time the ceremony was over, it had cleared up and it turned out to be a beautiful day.  With accents of purple, green and cream, the style of their wedding was very elegant and beautiful.  The ceremony was held in Springfield and then we were off to the reception at the Newton White Mansion in Maryland.  The mansion was GORGEOUS to say the least!  I had such a wonderful time documenting Jay and Brittany’s wedding day and their friends and family could not have been more welcoming and kind.  Thank you Jay and Brittany for choosing me as your wedding photographer!  Here are some favorites from your wedding day!

Good morning!  I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weekend we had!  Im feeling a bit under the weather today but am hopeful that I will start feeling better very soon!  Im going to catch up a little on the kids and school…We are going into week four for Kaleigh and week three for Carter and here’s how its been going so far!

Carter is LOVING preschool!  His best friend is in his class and he could not be more excited to go to school each day.  I thought he would have a difficult time with separation, but I was wrong.  And I surprised myself because I didnt even cry the first day!  I felt myself tear up a little but quickly shrugged it off because I know how happy he was to go….he’d only been talking about preschool for a solid year lol!  I think next year will be completely different though.  He will be going to school everyday, all day and it will be the first time in NINE years that I have been without children all day.  It is going to be SUCH a huge change for me…one that I am not quite ready for, but I know it will be good.  I will finally be able to balance work and home life better(I can have normal work hours!)  So its definitely something to look forward to.

Kaleigh is having a blast in third grade as well.  Her best friend is in her class again this year and she really loves her teacher.  I dont know how this little girl handles everything she does, but she does!  Not only does she go to school each and every day and keeps up with homework, but she also is at the gym 8 hours a week, takes piano lessons once a week(and has to practice 4 times a week), and is a member of girl scouts!  It makes me tired just thinking about it!  I think she likes staying busy though and its good for her….if she were around the house all day she would just want to watch TV!

So this weekend we had our first bonfire complete with hotdogs and smores and it was GREAT!  It makes me so excited for all the fun things we have planned this fall!  The weather could not have been more perfect and the kids had a great time hanging out with their friends.  Saturday was a pretty big day for us!  It was Carter’s first soccer game of the season and their team did a fantastic job!  Score 6-1( and Carter scored FOUR of those goals!)  I love watching him out on the field…he has a great time!  After the game we went to Kings Dominion for a few hours.  Will’s girlfriend, Kara, had free tickets for us AND free money for Phillip Morris Day at KD so we went to the park, rode games, ate a TON of food, and got souvenirs all for FREE!  It was so much fun…we havent been in a few years and it was nice to revisit the park.  It also reminded me of why we dont get annual passes….crowds and hot weather do not mix well with me! 🙂  But it was a blast for one day! 🙂  I had an engagement party shoot Saturday evening(hey Monica!) and it was so perfect!  The weather, decor, food, and people were great!  I cant wait to share the images.  The only downside to all the fun we had Friday and Saturday….I came home feeling pretty bad and even worse yesterday.  Despite feeling sick though, we cleaned up a lot around the house and managed to get all the decorations down for fall and Halloween!  Yay!  They are still sitting in the boxes, but hey, at least they are down from the attic!  I havent been feeling much better today, but am hoping that I can kick this cold before the end of the week.  Ive got too much to do to be sick!!

So, here’s the recap from last weeks goals…..

Personal:

-begin getting fall/Halloween decor out
