Another snow day….can you believe it?!?  Ive been ready for it to warm up and here we are, nearly April, still getting a snow storm lol!  Thats just Virginia weather for ya!  Oh well.  At least we all still have something to look forward to. 🙂

This past Friday, I did a little spring shopping(I gave myself the ok when I gave away three very large trash bags full of my clothes)  I think that is partly why I am so ready for it to warm up!….I want to wear my new clothes lol!  That evening we hung out with some friends for a while after our “Pizza Friday.”  Saturday was Carter’s first soccer game!  He was SO excited to be back on the field….maybe even a little too excited.  He couldnt stop bouncing around and screaming lol.  He was so thrilled that he couldnt concentrate on the game until near the end.  It was very entertaining to watch haha.  After, we did a bunch of running around for Easter related things(candy, visiting with the Easter Bunny, etc) and Mexico for lunch.  Eating healthy and weekends do not go well together for me.  I do so great during the week and then mess it all up on the weekend!

Kaleigh went to a friends house to spend the night that evening so our house was pretty quite that night.  Sunday was our “do homework, take baths, fold laundry, sweep, mop, and clean everything else we can before the start of the week because the house is going to get destroyed” day. 🙂  Then we watched it snow!  Kaleigh fell asleep at like 5:00 that evening…she hasnt done that in FOREVER!  She was exhausted!  And today is a snow day…unfortunately, I have two meetings today so I wont be able to take the kids out in the snow(they currently are watching a movie and not wanting to go out) and pretty soon it will be time to go.

What are your plans for this snowy Monday?  🙂

So, its a little late, but here it is….15 on 15.  If you havent read about it yet, Ive started what I am calling a 15 on 15 project!  Basically what this is is that one day out of the month Im going to take one photo an hour. 🙂  Since the kids’ day usually starts by 7 and ends around 9ish, I figured doing 15 pictures a day would be plenty!  Of course, I always end up taking a few more, but I have tried to narrow them down as much as I can!  Then, on the 15th of every month I am going to post the photos!  I am really excited about this project and giving everyone a glimpse in a “day in our lives”  Anyone who would like to join me, PLEASE DO!  I would love to see your images, so feel free to post links on the blog! 🙂  If we could get 15 people to join, how awesome would that be?!?!

I had a newborn shoot on this day(they usually last about 3 hours) 🙂 PIN IMAGECarter decided it would be good to eat his breakfast with gloves(aka his web shooters) PIN IMAGESneak Peak!  More coming soon!  This was the precious family and little baby I photographed. 🙂 PIN IMAGEHome finally!  Time for a break! PIN IMAGEAnd then its back to work! PIN IMAGEDinner time! PIN IMAGEAnd playtime for Carter(Kaleigh was at gymnastics) PIN IMAGEDays like this, I cant really make a “good meal” per say, but the prepackaged stuff still tastes great! PIN IMAGEThen, I fell asleep at like 8:00 that night lol! Not a lot of photos from this time around, but I will be sure to pick a  good day to document next time! 😉

Good morning everyone!  What a surprising “snow” we had last night!  Kaleigh had a two hour delay this morning so that always throws things off a bit.  This weekend was pretty uneventful for us.  While we did manage to get a lot of cleaning done and getting rid of TONS of things, I have been slowing burning out.  Jay has been working A LOT of overtime which means that I am with the kids by myself a lot more.  It finally hit me…I. NEED. A. BREAK.  Big time.  And Im not just talking a 10 minute break.  I mean a full one day to myself….at least.  Being with children who constantly are interrupting, fighting, nagging, distracting you from your work kind of children takes a toll on a person.  Im not saying they are all bad haha, they do great playing by themselves and even with each other for a time being, BUT everyone has their breaking point, and Ive reached mine.  My wedding begins in ONE weekend and I feel like I am in need of some relaxation before then.  There, I said it!  Jay, if you are reading this, its a big hint to you.  😉

I also want to touch base on my 52 week project…I have not given up, although some of you probably think I have lol!  I have missed posting the last few weeks because I am just exhausted by Friday.  I know its not that hard to post a simple picture, but Im loosing motivation already and we arent even halfway into 2013.  Im going to make it a point to be better about that.  I also didnt post 15 on 15 on Friday because the day that I documented probably wasnt the best day.  I was at a shoot for three hours(and two hours were spent in drive time) and then I fell asleep at 8:00 that night.  Ha!  So you can imagine all the photos I took that day.  Still, I am going to post it for you. 🙂

Below are the goals from last week….

Personal:

-go to Goodwill to drop off THREE trash bags full of clothes that I am getting rid of….I dont have a problem with spending money, I have a problem with hanging on to things(MUCH of what I am getting rid of is from my high school days!!!)  Sad I know!    SO glad I did this!  Now I have an excuse to shop….JK! haha

-do all the cleaning I didnt get a chance to do this weekend!  I dont think our house has been this clean in a long time!

-take Kaleigh and Carter’s clothes to the second hand shop….if ANYONE is interested in boys/girls clothing sizes newborn and up to 7(girls) and 4(boys) let me know!!

-continue working with Carter on reading…I feel like such a slacker because when Kaleigh was little, I started teaching her to read around the age of 3 1/2-4  so she was well advanced when she entered kindergarten.  Ive just now started with Carter, but he catches on quick and has been doing a great job!

-go bowling with some *adult* friends on Saturday!  We dont get to get out much so this is always exciting!  Fun night!  🙂

-put some things on craig’s list to get rid of!

Business:

-get all information together for the intro class I will be holding in the near future!  If you are interested, let me know! 🙂    worked on it, just need to finish it.

-put packages together for gymnastics portraits Im going to do for Kaleigh’s gym at the end of summer    worked on it, just need to finish it.

-business meeting on Sunday

-continue working on the sample album that I randomly started last night. 🙂

-record mileage and expenses for last week

-dive into PASS and begin implementing this great feature into my workflow  YAY!

And, this week’s goals and things I am looking forward to:

Ok, off to start the daily tasks…hope everyone has a great Monday!

WOW!  What a beautiful weekend we had!  It makes me so excited for spring to finally be here!  I really hope that it continues to stay warm because I am ready for spring!  Just having the kids be able to play outside was such a nice change and I know they really enjoyed it….and despite feeling under the weather(not sure if it was allergies or just a cold) I am ready for the warm weather. 🙂  We had a pretty fun weekend(the kids did anyway!)  Jay and I did a lot of things that we have been slacking on so it felt good to get those things out of the way.

Friday after school, we went over to our neighbor’s, Carri and Eric’s, for a play date with the kids.  I told Carri that my two ask for a play date with them every. single. day.  No lie.  I dont know why they havent given up on asking lol!  They were overjoyed to finally be able to play with their two friends.  Carter has been calling Emmons his ” ‘half-brother’ and pretty soon he is going to be his real brother”  haha  Im sure he picked that up from Kaleigh.  After, Kaleigh and I headed to the Steward School with her girl scout troop to see The Sound of Music by CYT.  I have nothing but great things to say about this theater program.  The kids are so talented and it is such an honor to watch them perform.  We have been to a few plays over the years and it is never a disappointment.  This was a particularly special play to Kaleigh because she has loved The Sound of Music since she was about 2 so she was thrilled to see it live.  The only downside was that it was pretty long and being that it was a Friday night…after a long week…we both were exhausted and didnt get home until 11:00!  Saturday, Carter met his soccer coach…he is every excited to being playing again and was happy to see that one of his friends from last season is on his team again.  I cant wait to watch him play this spring…he is naturally good(Im sure he gets this from Jay haha)  But more importantly, he has so much fun and has a smile from ear to ear every time he is on the field.  Saturday afternoon Jay and I did some cleaning, painting, and other things we have been procrastinating and then Kaleigh went to her friends house to spend the night.  Yesterday was a coffee drinking, pancake making, grocery shopping, playground playing, shower taking, chocolate cake eating sort of day haha.  We took advantage of the warm weather and the kids stayed outside most of the day.

A few of side notes….

Poor Carter has been sick recently.  We picked up some cough medicine from the store on Wednesday and he had a severe allergic reaction to it.  VERY scary….welps all over his face, rash all over the body.  Thankfully, it came and went pretty quickly, but it was scary.  We now have to get him tested to see what he is allergic to.

How did I ever drink coffee from anything other than freshly ground coffee beans?!?!  It makes SUCH a difference!!  My life has changed for the better lol!

I am FINALLY making progress on my bedroom, thanks to my husband who has been doing ALL of the painting(walls and furniture) and to my sister, Kristin, who has helped me get rid of things that I should have a LONG time ago!  We still have a ways to go, but it is looking so pretty!  I cant wait to show the reveal! 🙂

Kaleigh made the honor roll(no surprise haha) woo-hoo!

Girl scout cookies are still for sale!  Contact me to purchase them!

I think Carter should have been born a different time era.  I dont know where he gets this stuff but he is always saying things like, “Would you care to see my new jacket?”  “Ladies first…”  “That gave us a fright!”  “Here mom, these books will keep you company” “Well of course, we should…”  and so on….It sounds so funny hearing things like this come out of a 4 year old haha!  I love it!

I hate Daylight Savings time….

Ok, onto the goals….

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Well, poor Carter his sick.  He got sick early Thursday morning and by Saturday seemed to be doing better.  Unfortunately, today when he woke up his eyes were really red and he just progressively got worse throughout the day.  I feel so bad for him because there is nothing I can do and he looks so miserable!  He is such a trooper though….never complained or whined(which would be understandable and totally fine!) but just that he is such a sweet, gentle soul and there are very few things that get to him, even being sick haha!  I am heading to the doctor this morning to hopefully get him on some meds so he can return to his happy little self….I just hate seeing him look so sickly.

This weekend was a busy one…can you guess what we did on Friday??  Yep, pizza and game night.  🙂  Saturday, Kaleigh had a gymnastics meet in Stafford so we were gone all day.  When we returned home, we went to Mexico for dinner(yum!) and then headed home for bedtime.  It was a long day, but gym meets are always fun and she did GREAT!  She got second all-around and she was thrilled to have gotten a trophy!  Yesterday, she sold girl scout cookies with her troop(they sold all of their boxes, yay!)  We tried to not do too much because Carter felt so bad.  For dinner, we met up with Ginny and Rick at Texas Road house.  I havent eaten a steak in a long time so I treated myself to a steak with grilled onions and mushrooms…SO good!  Sadly, Carter just kept getting worse and worse and he looked pitiful by the end of dinner.

Hopefully Carter will get better as the week goes on, otherwise, I wont be getting much accomplished haha!  Below is a recap of my goals from last week and this week’s goals!
