I met this sweet family back in 2015 when I photographed their family session! I cant believe how much their oldest has grown and I had the pleasure of meeting their littlest for the first time! We shot at the beautiful Jasmine Plantation, where they were married…I love that they chose this location as it has so much meaning behind it. Enjoy some of my favorites from the J Family’s session! I am LOVING all of these beautiful family sessions on the blog recently! I have had the privilege of working with some really amazing families this season and sharing such special moments with each and every one! I met the “W” family after they welcomed their sweet baby girl into the world. It was such an endearing session and I am honored to have been a part of this special time…below are my favorites! Tripp and I have been together for three years. Neither of us likes to use the word fate, but it seems that’s what brought us together. We met on a random Saturday afternoon after I had lunch with my aunt, whom I hadn’t seen in a while. She suggested that we go down to the “dog lots” [where they kept their hunting dogs] to see if my cousin was there. Well, sure enough he was, along with a handsome young man, whom I had never seen, and puppies!! I mean, come on… what more could a girl ask for?! We talked for a few minutes while playing with the puppies and when I left I thought I’d never see or hear from him again. But not even three minutes later, my aunt got a phone call asking if Tripp could have my phone number.
The road to our engagement was full of ups and downs, but that night was perfect. We went to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, just as we do every year to look at Christmas lights. As we were walking out, we came up on a group of people standing around. It took me a minute to notice who they were (I wasn’t wearing my glasses), but eventually I realized both of our families were standing there. Tripp walked over to my dad, who pulled out a small white box from his jacket. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course, I said YES!!! My dad has since passed away after being sick for a very long time, so it really meant a lot to me, and to Tripp, that he was there to “give me away” since he wasn’t there for our big day.
It was such an honor to work with Tripp and Megan during this special time in their lives. Their wedding day was filled with much love and laughter from all of their family and friends and it was a privilege to be a part of it all!
