Good morning friends!  I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather we are having!  I hope it stays like this for a while!  OK, I have to admit….I’ve been slacking in the blogging department, What a crazy couple of months it has been!  BUT I have been doing A LOT of “behind the scenes” work with the business and I am so happy to see my hard work paying off!  I have designed and ordered new sample albums, updated and ordered my bridal guide, completed all of my tax paperwork, stayed up to date with all of my 2016 expenses, updated my wedding contract and all consent forms, designed and ordered new marketing materials(business and thank you cards, and brochures), updated all of my business email documents, decided on my couple’s gifts for the year and ordered everything, shot a few sessions, and am almost completely booked for 2016 and even started booking 2017 weddings!  Im sure there are plenty of things Ive missed listing, but that is a big chunk of it!  Now that wedding season has officially kicked off, I will be posting more frequently! 🙂  I am looking forward to implementing the Manic Mondays again because it really does help me stay on track with my “to-do” lists.  I have my goals for the week below the sneak peek from Jesse and Charity’s wedding this past weekend!  I am excited to share more soon!

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  So lets talk about SNOW!  For one, I was not expecting any snow this past weekend…in fact, I really wasnt sure that we would get ANY snow this winter.  It has been exceptionally warm(hello?!!?!  Christmas!?!) so the thought of snow has not been on my mind at all!  But I am glad it came and it was beautiful!  Just enough to coat the trees, but not enough to stick.  That is my kind of snow!  And if  you have ever driven down my driveway, you know why! 😉  I am excited for the weather forecast this week, with expected snow coming in and then warm weather to melt it away!!  I hope we get enough for the kids to be able to sled down our driveway….we shall see!

Anyway, this past weekend was jam packed with lots of fun things!  Friday night, Kaleigh had a semi-formal dance, so it was kind of a big deal…her “first” dance!  We went out and purchased a new dress for her and I did her hair that evening.  She looked so beautiful and grown up…I cant believe she will be 12 in a matter of months, that is scary!!  I am not ready for all of the new things that are coming our way(well, mainly boys and hormones haha!)  I guess we will take it one day at a time! 😉   Kaleigh had a great time at the dance and had a few friend over after for a sleepover.  I’d say that they had a great time hover boarding, eating junk food, singing, dancing and being typical 11 year old girls!  We took Carter to G-Force Go Karts with his cousin and my dad to do some racing…they had a great time as well!

Saturday, we took Carter to his basketball game in the morning and them dropped him off with my dad, aunt, uncle and cousin to hang out and play for the day and to spend the night.  Jay and I had a co-ed baby shower to attend and then we had dinner with friends that evening.  We ended the day watching the crazy Packers/Cardinals game!  And because Jay and I never get to do this because we usually have the kiddos, we treated ourselves to brunch, mimosas and more football!  Later that day, we headed over to pick up the kids and watch the second game.

Although it was a busy weekend, it was very relaxing!  BUT, its time to get moving…the kids are out of school today and I have A LOT of cleaning to do….so can you guess how my day will go?!  Haha!  I’ll end this post with a few photos of Kaleigh from her dance and the goals below!  Have a great day!  2016-01-18_0001PIN IMAGE 2016-01-18_0002PIN IMAGE

Hello friends!  So, if you didnt read my post yesterday, you may not know why I was not able to post a “Manic Monday” on the blog!  My son, Carter, accidentally, spilled an entire drink onto my laptop.  Yay!!!!  It happened at the perfect time of year….you know, CHRISTMAS!  And not only that, but the big gift from “Santa,” hasnt arrived yet, so thats even better!!  Wow.  Im not sure if anything else can go wrong, other than the fact that my kids have been pushing each other’s(and our buttons!) NON-STOP ever since they got out of school.  I mean, do they bottle it all up inside and can’t help themselves, or do they know exactly how to make their parents go crazy?!?!?!  Im not sure, but either way, I am ALREADY going insane and we aren’t even two days into the break!  I can’t see this going well…..SO, parents…if you have ANY suggestions, comments, advice, etc to give, PLEASE DO!!!  I NEED it haha!

I always have high expectations and awesome, fun plans in mind, but it seems that the moment the kids start arguing, I lose all of my ambition and want to give up.  Someone please tell me I am not the only one!  Ughhhhhhh!  AND…to top it all off…..some sort of alarm keeps going off in our house….like…every.  two.  minutes.  Doesn’t that sound FUN?!?!?!  I don’t have the energy right now to even think about what the heck it is.  I just keep sighing to myself in hopes that it will magically GO AWAY! …….ANYWAY!  This has not been a good start to Christmas week and I am feeling very….Ba Humbugish…. I KNOW that I should be more grateful, thankful, happy, and excited for this time of year, but I just cant.  AND, to top it ALL off, I havent finished Christmas shopping!  Not.  Even.  Close.  I know how awful, selfish and self-loathing I sound right now, but its just how I feel and I am not going to lie. 🙁  It really doesnt feel like Christmas and I not matter how hard I try, I just cant make myself feel like it is…..I pray that this week gets better and that I can feel the Christmas spirit.  So, if you are reading this and feel compelled, please pray for me this week and our family.  We need to feel the Christmas spirit in our home and in our hearts.

Manic Monday | Photography Business Goals | Personal

Hello Monday!  What a BEAUTIFUL weekend we had!  I hope everyone got the chance to get outside and enjoy the weather!  We had a weekend FULL of Christmas fun!  Friday, we went out to dinner and then went to the Illuminate show!  The kids had a great time and Jay and I always enjoy the lights. 🙂  We made it home just in time for Santa on the firetruck!  Its a Mechanicsville tradition where Santa visits ALL the neighborhoods!  Its been going on for the last couple of weeks and it was finally our turn to get our visit!  I love that they do this!

Saturday, we went to Carter’s basketball game and I treated him to lunch with just the two of us.  After, we came home and did some cleaning while the kids played outside and then I had a photo shoot!  I am excited to show you the images soon!  Saturday evening we went ice-skating and the kids skated for 3 1/2 hours!  It was after 10:00 when we left and they both fell asleep on the way home…they were exhausted!

Sunday, we spent all day cleaning and preparing for my niece, Raelynn’s, first birthday!  It was such a fun celebration and my sister did a fantastic job with all of the decorations and food!  I am excited to share the cake smash session we did last week!  🙂

This week is another busy week and I am STILL not finished Christmas shopping!  I am hoping to get a lot accomplished this week, wish me luck!  Below are some photos from ice-skating and then the goals!  Happy Monday! 2015-12-14_0015PIN IMAGE 2015-12-14_0016PIN IMAGE 2015-12-14_0017PIN IMAGE

Its that time of year!  Family sessions are so popular in the fall and I love photographing each and every one of the families!  One near and dear to my heart is my sister and her family.  Baby Raelynn is almost a year old(10 days from now!) and it has been so much fun watching her grown and change!  I cant believe she went from a little 5 pound bundle of joy to a smiling, happy baby girl in just a year.  I am excited to share her first birthday on Sunday at our home with family and friends.  I will her cake smash session coming to the blog soon, but for now, enjoy the photos from their family session! 🙂 Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-SessionPIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (1)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (2)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (3)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (4)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (5)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (6)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (7)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (8)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (9)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (10)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (11)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (12)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (13)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (14)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (15)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (16)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (17)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (18)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (19)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (20)PIN IMAGE Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Session-Mechanicsville-VA-Family-Photographer-Mechanicsville-VA-Session (21)PIN IMAGEMechanicsville, VA Family Photographer
