I am so blessed to be able to work with such wonderful families! I love meeting new families and cherish the families who return each year. I have been working with the “F” Family for a year now and they hold a special place in my heart. They are so sweet and Aubrey reminds me so much of Kaleigh….those curls, a bright smile and lots of personality. 🙂

Jenee writes, “My husband and I were married in 2011 and were blessed with an amazing baby girl in 2012. Travel is one of our biggest passions and we cannot wait to share this sense of adventure with our daughter. Becoming parents has definitely been our biggest adventure yet and Aubrey teaches us something new every day. Our daughter is a happy, strong-willed little girl. She loves to laugh and to make others laugh. She has become quite a ‘girlie’ girl over the past year and loves anything that is pink, purple, and sparkly.”

Sounds just like Kaleigh that age!! Love it! 🙂

“I always say that my daughter is 96% percent perfect and my husband corrects me and says she is 100% perfect, 96% of the time. In either case, this 4% ALWAYS manifests itself during family pictures. This time it was refusing to wear the dress she had picked out the day before – Never a Dull Moment! Two type A parents are slowly learning that they are no longer in control and we wouldn’t change a thing!!”

Haha! I know that feeling all too well! And Aubrey was 100% perfect for the shoot, as always!! She is so precious! Below are some favorites from our session!

I met this family a couple of weeks ago and they were a pleasure to work with! It was a rainy day, but that didnt stop us! The leaves were at their peak and it was GORGEOUS!!

Amy writes, “It was a complete treat having Ashley take our family photos. I was excited to find out about Ashley from a woman I know that has documented her growing family with Ashley several times. My friend was telling me about her recent photo shoot with Ashley when I realized that life had gotten away from us….it had been way too long since we had a family photo taken. I’m usually the one behind the camera, trying to capture the moments of my family and the end result usually involves complaining from my subjects and photos that never include Mom. My kids are in that age range where photo taking is not a priority and they actually turn away from the camera and/or cover their faces! Ashley did a great job of making our mini shoot pain free! It was quick, casual, natural and yet thorough….and that speaks volumes as a portion of it was even in the rain! She did a great job of engaging both our middle school and high school sons while keeping it “cool”. Thank you for being pet friendly! Yes, we are “that family”…. you know…the one that shows up to the family photo shoot with their dog… because in our house…the dog is family and we can’t picture life without her! Thank you for capturing where we are in our lives… the here and now. Thank you for documenting the face of a beginning middle schooler who still has a hint of his young boy face, the face of an ambitious teenager starting high school, the face of the sweetest basset hound ever, and the faces of the parents that pinch themselves every single day because they can’t believe how quickly their children have grown and just how lucky they are to have been a part of it all!”

I had such a great time meeting and working with this family! I am so happy I got the chance to work with them before they move next year!

Lacey writes, “Our family moved to Richmond in 2012 for my husband to start Dental School at VCU. We moved across the country with two kids and have had tons of adventures exploring Virginia. Now he will be graduating in May 2016 and we will be leaving with 4 kids total! We knew we couldn’t leave beautiful Richmond without some Fall Pictures at Maymont, one of our favorite spots to be together as a family. When we do get time all together we like to go to the Goochland Drive-In, check out all the museums in town, parks, bike riding, camping, and just be silly and play games together. Obviously, with 3 kids we find ourselves pretty busy and overwhelmed at times but we find that always looking for the good in the day, silliness, laughter, and being thankful, keep us in love with our crazy life.”

Manic Monday! | Photography Business Goals

11.16.2015

Well, this post is a little late! I completely forgot about writing until just a few minutes ago! 🙂

So last week, Carter had a lot of things going on with school! He had Barnes and Noble/Chic-fil-a night and his class did a poem performance on bats! I didnt bring my camera with me so I recorded the poem–so cute! 🙂 He also had a Veteran’s Day Assembly at school and because he is a boy scout, he and a few other students dressed in their uniforms and helped carry the flag. He looked so cute! He got an extra surprise when his Papa spoke during the assembly! And on Friday, he had the Boosterthon Fun-Run to help raise money for their school! The kids had a great time running the laps. This was the second year that the school has done this and it is awesome! I am so glad I was able to be a part of each of these events and help document them for the school! Sure, my house is still decorated for Halloween and I have laundry up to the ceiling…but Im not worried about it! I didnt get to have lunch with him so I am making that a goal for this week! I was so excited to work with the “F” Family again this year! I cant believe how big Blair is now…what a jump! She went from a little toddler to a little girl! She has so much personality and is always on the go! I know she keeps her mom and dad busy, but they love it! 🙂

Gavin and Nikki met in high school- he played soccer and she was on the volleyball team. Their first memory of seeing each other was on the track running with their respective teams. They became good friends during high school and ended up at the same college. They started dating, and the rest is history! They have been married now for 7.5 years and Blair arrived 3 years ago!

Nikki says, “We can’t imagine our lives without her. We have had so much fun watching her grow into this curious, spunky, independent little girl who loves the outdoors. She certainly keeps us on our toes and laughing. We are from Ohio originally so are Buckeye fans to the core! It’s fun to hear Blair yelling “go Buckeye’s” as we watch football on Saturdays. We enjoy taking hikes in “our woods” behind our house as well as bike rides and playing at the park . Blair is following in her daddy’s footsteps of becoming a great soccer player! She also is quite the artist and we spend a lot of time painting, coloring, and drawing. We are excited for the arrival of a little sister or brother in just a few months- Blair is convinced it will be a sister for her! She will no doubt be a fantastic big sister and helper to mommy and daddy!”
