Matt and Carrie’s wedding day was gorgeous! The weather was cooperative and the day was relaxed and easy going! They had so many amazing family, friends, and vendors who helped make their day stress free! Carrie was so calm and had a big smile on her face leading up to the ceremony. She trusted everyone to take care of everything so she could be in the moment and enjoy her day. From the bouquets and reception decor to Carrie seeing Matt at the alter, it was all beautiful.

I loved working with them and their friends and family! It’s couples like this who make me fall in love with what I do all over again!! I hope you enjoy this gorgeous Williamsburg wedding!!

Historic Pole Green Church and McCormack’s Whiskey Grill | Tim and Emily | Richmond, VA Wedding Photographer

Tim and Emily were married on a sunny Sunday morning and it was beautiful. Sure, the rain wasn’t ideal, but their spirits were bright and nothing was going to stop them from getting married! The rain came in right after Tim and Emily’s first look and continued right up until she walked down the aisle. It cleared up just in time for an ambulance to roll through with the lights and sirens blaring! However, they had a blast and a little rain(and noise!) couldn’t steal their joy.

I started the day at the Virginia Crossings Hotel with Emily and her sister. I was welcomed in with open arms and spent the first part of the hour photographing their hair and make up and detail shots. It was such a quiet and relaxing morning! I then headed over to Tim and got a few shots of him getting ready before we headed down for their first look! The rain held off just long enough for them to have a few moments together.

Despite the downpour, family and friends gathered around with smiling faces as Tim and Emily said their “I do’s” and then headed out to McCormack’s Whiskey Grill for a divine lunch. Tim and Emily were surrounded by such amazing close family and friends and it was an honor to be able to be the one to capture their day!!! Below are some favorites from Tim and Emily’s wedding!!

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Engagement Session | Chimuel and Kaitlin | Richmond, VA Wedding Photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting Chimuel and Kaitlin a while back and as we talked about their wedding plans, their excitement was contagious! They share a lot of common interests and I enjoyed getting to know them. After seeing these two together and how they interact, it’s easy to see that they are so in love. They love to laugh and and their love shows through in their images so genuinely.

In Kaitlin’s words, “We met through mutual friends while in college; over the course of time we grew to know each other but it wasn’t until after we went to a concert together that things started to pick up. It started as a night filled with corny jokes and endless laughter, neither of us slept that night because we just kept talking and enjoyed each others’ company. It quickly became a long distance relationship, separated by a drive between Harrisonburg and Richmond though we packed every weekend and moment together with activities and long drives out on winding roads. After enduring over a year of driving back and forth, we decided to start our lives in Richmond. Things only picked up speed from there; we added a puppy, got engaged and purchased our first home all within a year of moving in together… the engagement itself is its own story.

Chimuel was scheduled to have a work conference in Seattle, Washington the first week of June and I had planned to fly out there for a long weekend after his work was finished. Seattle was a city both of us had always wanted to visit together and this had been the perfect opportunity to go. Since our trip out there was just for a long weekend, we tried fitting in everything we could. The one thing we absolutely made sure to do was to go to the top of the Seattle Space Needle, which we visited multiple times. But one of those times neither one of us will ever forget. That one special night began with dinner perfectly timed with the sunset in the restaurant at the top of the Space Needle. This unique restaurant rotates which enables you to see the skyline of the whole city and the Puget Sound so we were able to see the sunset from all around. After we finished dessert, we headed up to the observation deck to see the city lit up at night. Both of us were leaning on the railing admiring the city when all of a sudden Chimuel had dropped something. By the time I had turned to see what it was, he was bending down on one knee asking me to marry him!”

I’m so excited for their wedding in December! Until then, enjoy some of my favorites from their session!!!

A Country Inspired Wedding at Tuckahoe Plantation | Matt and Kristen | Richmond, VA Wedding Photographer

Matt and Kristen had the most perfect outdoor spring wedding…the weather cooperated(although it rained earlier that day!) and it was a sweet, simple, country inspired wedding at Tuckahoe Plantation. Matt and Kristen are both so down to earth and that’s one of the many reasons that this wedding was so laid back and intimate! After photographing their engagement session, I knew that their wedding day would be awesome. They understand each other so well, they love their family, and they love celebrating life. Their wedding day was classic, with a flair of country that really showed their down-to-earth personalities.

Matt and Kristen celebrated their marriage with close friends and family and it was exactly how they envisioned their day to be. Their vowel exchange was especially important to each of them because they personally wrote them and waited to share them on the wedding day. Included, were promises about Kristen’s hunger and Matt’s love for Virginia Tech Football, showing just how prominent both of these things have been in their relationship.I feel so blessed to have my job. Each and every one of my clients remind me how lucky I am to be doing what I love! Thank you to Matt and Kristen and all of their friends and family who shared this special day with them! I’m so thankful that I had the opportunity to capture their day. It was such an honor! Below is their beautiful wedding day at the Tuckahoe Plantation in Richmond, Virginia.

Manic Monday | Business Goals

04.25.2016

Good afternoon friends! What a gorgeous day! I am currently sitting outside now enjoying this beautiful weather as I write! I am trying to soak this in as much as possible because this week is going to be pretty busy! I shot a Matt and Kristen’s wedding on Saturday and had 4 sessions on Sunday, so I will be staring at my computer screen for most of the week, editing away! I also have a big photography business goal list and am keeping my fingers crossed I can accomplish my goals this week! 🙂 This weekend, I have a Sunday wedding so I would love to do something fun with the kids on Saturday…Im thinking either a Richmond Kicker’s game or Arts in the Park! Ideally, I would love to do both, but that may be pushing it with Carter’s baseball game that day as well. We will see! What are some of your goals this week? Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I’d love to hear them! Below is another sneak peek from Matt and Kristen’s wedding….the day could not have been more perfect!
