Wow!  I cant believe I am finally getting around to posting the kid’s birthday parties!  I know I have been buys, but geez!!  I have been wanting to share these images for so long now, but just have not had the time to get around to writing the post!  I did the hard part…editing, watermarking, uploading…the only thing I had to do was write!  I feel awful that it has taken two months, but its finally here!

Kaleigh started gymnastics a few months ago and has come to truly love it!  Not only does she have a great time and has made a lot of friends, but she is also good…I mean REALLY good!  She catches on SO quickly, is eager to learn, and works HARD.  Those things will take her far in this sport.  I did gymnastics for 8 years and loves every minute of it so it makes me happy that she has the same passion for it!  I am making it a point to take some photos this week of Kaleigh doing gymnastics, so hopefully I will have a blog post on that soon. 🙂  Naturally, she wanted to have a gymnastics themed birthday and so we did!  Below are the details from her birthday!  Carter’s are on the blog as well…you can check his birthday party out here.    PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE

Well, I am finally getting around to posting some images from Carter’s birthday party!…it only took me TWO months!  Geez!  As crazy as it sounds….I really dont get time to take photos of my own kids and document the everyday things.  This is something I really would like to work on.  I would love it if I am able to bring out my camera once a week to snap just a few photos of them in their element.  Nothing planned…nothing special…just them growing up and doing what they love.  But, thats another story!

So, Carter has been obsessed with super heros for over a year now and what better way to celebrate his birthday than with a super hero themed birthday?!?!  The kids had such a great time…we combined their birthdays again this year(much easier on me haha) You can view Kaleigh’s gymnastics themed birthday here.  Below are the fun details from Carter’s 4th birthday!

Good morning everyone!  To say this past week was busy may be an understatement!  Aside from doing the normal everyday tasks, I did a lot of running around!  To be honest, I felt like I was in the car more than anything!  Trips to gymnastics, piano, family visits, doctor visits, a girls night out, play dates, a trip to the apple store, and taking my car to the shop!  Phew!  From the looks of it, it may seem like I got a lot accomplished, and maybe I did…but I feel like BECAUSE I was doing all that running around that I didnt get more important things done(spending quality time with the kids, cleaning, editng..) Ahhhh, the list goes on and on!  This weekend was spent watching a lot of the Olympics and cleaning…not that exciting, but a lot of fun! 🙂

Here are some photos from our most recent piano lesson.  You may remember Rachel, Kaleigh’s teacher…I did her, Scott, and Diego’s session this past fall!

This is going to be a short post today, but I did want to write the kid’s stats from the doctor….And I will quote my facebook status “Kaleigh: 50 lbs(12th percentile) 48 inches(10th percentile) Carter:44 lbs(95th percentile) 42 inches (75th percentile) they are FOUR years apart! Talk about total opposites lol!”

I was so happy to have finally met Chris and Becky for their engagement session in Richmond!  We have been chatting back and forth for a while and I couldn’t wait to meet them in person!  I loved that they chose to have their engagement session downtown!  It has been quite a while since I’ve done a session in the city and I always LOVE when I do! 🙂  We started out at the train station, walked around a bit, and ended the day with a beautiful sunset overlooking the city.  It could not have been more perfect and I loved capturing Chris and Becky’s love for each other and all the sweet moments they shared together that day.

Chris and Becky, I had SUCH a fun time with you all and I cannot wait to see you again on your wedding day!  🙂   PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGEThese two are so natural in front of the camera! Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend!  This weekend was a bit different for me, as I had a Friday wedding in Maryland.  I actually really liked having a Friday wedding because I felt like I had a weekend.  And I must say, I had a great time at Brittany and Jay’s wedding…they were such a sweet couple and their family and friends were so much fun to hang out with!  And even though the drive home took nearly 4 HOURS(due to an accident), it was totally worth it!  When I got back home Saturday afternoon, I was tired to say the least so we just hung out around the house.  I reluctantly got in the car again that evening lol so that we could go to Mexico for dinner(one of my favorite restaurants!)  After, we went to Best Buy to purchase  a couple of new external hard drives to back up my files.  I have since then learned that it is my actual computer(Time Machine to be exact) that is not cooperating with the hard drives.  This gives me a lot of hope that the first external hard drive that I am having issues with is ok and has not failed.  I plan to take a trip to the Apple store today to do a diagnostics.  🙂

Then we went to Petsmart to look at the hamsters…both Kaleigh and Carter have expressed that they would like hamsters….its been about a year since Kaleighs two hamsters(Carl and Jake) passed away and I think its safe to say that Kaleigh has mourned and moved on.  At the time it was devastating.  I hated to see her hurt like that and I so wish there was something I could have done to help take that pain away…BUT, that is part of growing up.  We had a special burial ceremony for Carl and Jake and she hand wrote letters to each of them.  It was very sweet(and sad!)  From that experience, Kaleigh knows now what will eventually happen with other animals as well as people….she knows that empty feeling inside when something like that happens and when something/someone important passes away…..and she is willing to deal with it!  I think that says a lot about her.  And it reminds me of the quote, “It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at at all.”  And, Carter is now around the same age Kaleigh was when she first got her hamsters, so the timing I think is perfect. 🙂

Ok, I wrote a lot more than I intended!  So yesterday, we went over to my parents house for an awesome breakfast complete with fried eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, cinnamon rolls, and coffee….it….was…delicious!  Thinking about it now makes me want it all over again!  After, we went swimming!  My dad got the kids snorkeling gear(in preparation for the CRUISE we are going on in three months…thats another story!)  and Carter had a BLAST!  He finally started going under the water again and couldnt get enough!  We had to physically take him out of the pool and make him take breaks because he was going under the water more than he was actually breathing lol!  I was amazed at how well he is able to swim!  I know I am totally biased, but my kids constantly amaze me!  🙂

We went out to eat later that evening with Gigi and Rick(Jay’s parents), followed by a great game of putt putt.  Kaleigh is really getting good…she has the hand-eye coordination down!  Carter is still easily distracted and cant seem to stay in one place for more than 30 seconds lol so he did his own game of putt putt.  I’d say this weekend was pretty relaxing and fun…even if I didnt get to edit or get a single thing done around the house.  At times I feel completely hopeless and overwhelmed by the never ending amount of work that I have…but lately I have been hanging on to something I read….I cant remember the exact quote but it goes something like this….if you have to choose between work and the kids….choose the kids…the work will always be there tomorrow.

I apologize for the super long post…I guess I am in need of some relief. 🙂  OK, lets take a look at last week’s goals….
