Ok everyone!  I am going to try a new blog series.  I really would love to blog on a consistent basis so I figured, what better way to kick off the week than to post an entry!  I’d like these weekly posts to recap the weekend and have my goals for the week.  I find that if I have my goals written out I am more likely to do them.  I think also if I feel accountable to someone(thats you!) that I will be more likely to be persistent with reaching my goals!

This weekend was filled with lots of exciting things!  Friday evening I had a get together with some girlfriends for a Stella and Dot jewelry party.  It was a lot of fun getting to hang out with a group of girls…thats not something I get to do very often at all, so it was a treat!  Beautiful jewelry, good conversation, and delicious munchies….what more could you ask for?  And, it only took me an entire week to clean my downstairs haha!  After, we played a board game which was so much fun that we have decided to start a monthly game night!  I am super excited for it!  The early part of Saturday was spent lounging around the house and later that evening I shot a beautiful wedding.  The crowd was a lot of fun and I had a great time capturing their special day!  After, I went out for one of my good friend’s bachelorette party!  Her mom surprised her with a limo so we got to ride around the city…it was such a FUN night!  Yesterday we had lunch at Strawberry Street Cafe(where I stuffed myself with their brunch buffet) and then headed off to meet one of my beautiful brides while Jay took the kids to the Science Museum.  The rest of the day we just hung out around the house and relaxed.  All in all, it was a really busy weekend, but it was filled with lots of fun(and FOOD)!

Ok, onto the week ahead!  Some of these goals I am looking forward to meeting….others….not so much.

Personal Goals for this week:

-workout three times

-read at least one chapter in my new book(The Hunger Games)

-buy a dress for my wedding this weekend

-BREATHE

-spend quality time with Carter(something we are both in need of right now!)

-catch up on laundry

-edit personal photos

-keep my downstairs CLEAN

Business Goals:

-edit wedding photos from the last three weddings

-tackle my inbox(this is a never ending task!)

-meet with my second shooters to discuss details for upcoming weddings

-get ready for an amazing wedding coming up this weekend(this will be my FOURTH weekend in a row shooting a wedding….and I have two more directly after this one!  I am not ready for this lol!)

So there you have it!  My first Manic Monday blog post!  Let me know what you think!  Do you like it?  Hate it?  Have suggestions?  Comment away!  Happy Monday everyone!

After our fabulous Easter day filled with fun, food, and family we came home and planted our vegetable garden!   The kids had a blast digging, planting and watering our new little “farm.”  It warms my heart to know that they enjoy doing this sort of thing.  I love coming together as a family spending quality time with each other.  Something as simple as(well…not that simple!)making a garden created an afternoon of pure bliss.  In reality though, there is so much more it.  For one, we, as a family, created a plan and a goal.  In the end, we will get to physically see(and eat!) what we worked hard for.  We did something together that we can be proud of.  We worked together for the same goal and when those first tomatoes and cucumbers start coming in, I can’t wait to see their faces light up with joy.  We are teaching principles such as teamwork and family values….work ethic and taking pride in your what you do…..spending time together with loved ones…setting goals and seeing them through….I know that their enthusiasm may not last for planting a garden, but I hope that the seeds we are planting within them continue to grow and blossom.

What sort of things do you like to do together as a family?  I hope this inspires you to go out and “plant some seeds” of your own! 🙂

FYI, These images were shot with my NEW Canon 5d Mark III…..I am in LOVE with this camera.  It is a dream…..

I am running out the door right after I write this for Kaleigh’s Easter party at school!  But I just wanted to let everyone know that I hope you all have a happy and safe Easter holiday!  I am looking forward to spending time with family this weekend, egg hunts, dying eggs, seeing the kids faces light up when they find their Easter baskets, and most importantly, remembering that our Savior IS ALIVE!  What are some favorite Easter holiday traditions that you do?

Oh, and if you are looking for something fun to do, check out my Easter board on pinterest! PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE PIN IMAGE
